COVID is finally over and it’s time to get back to work providing outreach support, both financially and in volunteering, to important organizations in the Milwaukee area.
This Sunday (June 11) at coffee hour we are welcoming Lyn Hildenbrand, Executive Director for The Gathering. She will be bringing to us their story and how we can support again their work through volunteerism.
Founded in 1982, The Gathering provides one of the largest all-volunteer meal programs in Milwaukee – 60,000 meals annually at three locations. Their goal is to alleviate hunger and address the root causes and related problems associated with food insecurity in Milwaukee’s poorest neighborhoods.
Currently, we are signed up to provide 75 bag lunches to the Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, 8424 West Center Street. There will be a sign-up sheet at coffee hour.
