At this critical moment in diocesan history, quality leaders are needed to help navigate the transition toward being a unified Diocese of Wisconsin. In addition to voting on reunification in October, the convention will also elect members of the Standing Committee, Executive Council, and General Convention alternates. The Standing Committee functions as the ecclesiastical authority of the diocese in the absence of a bishop, and will take on a large role following Bishop Lee’s retirement in July of this year. The Executive Council oversees the financial and operational tasks of the diocese, and the General Convention alternates could be called upon to serve at convention and help advocate for the reunification of the diocese in addition to other important matters of church governance.
