At its December 22 meeting, the Vestry accepted the Interim Rector’s proposal to cut back his hours and salary by 20%. The adjustment has no bearing on the fulltime status of the next Rector, but as the selection of that person draws near, the Interim Rector is focusing attention on documenting business processes and preparing for a smooth handoff. And that requires less time. In any given week, his schedule likely will be the same as before, but on some weeks, Becky and Lane will be spending more time at their home in Des Moines.
The coming week is a good example: Becky and Lane will be leaving Milwaukee after church this Sunday, January 1, and from there will be joining their son and flying to Portland, Oregon to spend deferred family Christmas time with both their kids. On Sunday, January 8, they will be in transit back to Milwaukee, and Mary and Jim Trainor will be leading worship.
